Mock up of Design

This is the design I went for. I chose this one because it is simple, can be easily transported, flat packed and easily assembled by hand with no glue necessary. It also has a handle (which is better than the current plastic one that the brewery have on their packaging) and this makes it easier for customers to carry and would save using a carrier bag. I will also have three pop-out pieces that will be beer mats.
The final piece will be made from recyclable card and I'm hoping to have minimal printing, keeping the natural colour of the material.

  1. Good basic consids Zoe.. Consider some kind of picture windows in the pack too so that the customers can see the goods.. If you can make your pack, light, strong with a clever re-use then I think you'd be on the right track. Also start to think about what visual styles you might use on the external packaging too now. Are you going for 'traditional' and 'rustic' or maybe more 'high tech green' in some way or more lifestyle-oriented visuals?

  2. Hi Andy,
Thanks for the comment! That's one thing I'd forgotten to include on my mock up - the cut out windows! and I'm planning on having the cut-out bits turned into beer mats (which i have a few design ideas for too) so that they're not wasted. I'm also thinking about weather to have these included in the gift pack for people to use at home or weather they will be more useful for the brewery to use.
I have started to think of colour designs but they're not complete yet but I've decided to go for traditional and rustic.
I would like you're opinion on what I have so far, and I remember you're quite busy this week so would it be better for me to e-mail what I have to you?
